“THE SCIENCE OF YOGA”

Dr James McGarry (Goswami Drastamurti) is a philosopher specialising in Metaphysics who has spent 16 years studying and teaching the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali in Manipur University Ashram (India) in both English and Sanskrit. For many years he also conducted courses at the Academy of Esoteric Sciences in Sydney.

He agreed to conduct a class (in four 10 week terms) in the philosophy, practices and spiritual aspects upon which all Yoga practice is based, for those who are interested in developing an understanding of this subject. Because of the practical element of this course those seeking personal empowerment and skills to produce greater control over stress, anxiety and nervous tension will benefit from the techniques taught. Students can expect to gain long term benefits by applying the abilities learned to every aspect of their lives.

This course was recorded by the Academy and is now available in MP3/CD format. This course of 60 hours duration has been packaged as 8 CDs of 7 ½ hours each with five 1 ½ hour lessons per CD.

Previous training in meditation/self-hypnosis/relaxation, Sanskrit, or Metaphysics should not be an advantage because these subjects are covered comprehensively as part of the syllabus of the course. The textbook for this course is “The Science of Yoga” by I.K. Taimni available from the Adyar bookshop of the Theosophical Society in Sydney (or by mail order) or from the Academy (limited stocks).

This distance learning course is now available from the Academy at $850.00 per set of CDs or $870.00 for the CDs and textbook. Postage is included in Australia – overseas orders add 10%.
