The Academy was established in l977 in accord with the 30th World  Health Assembly of the World Health Organization (Resolution WHA30.43/2)  and is affiliated with the Open International University For Complementary  Medicines recognised by the United Nations Peace University constituted under resolution 35/55/XII/80.
